Because I am quite tall (5ft, 10) this dress was made to measure. As a size guide I am roughly a 16. There is room to take it in, but not to take it out. So if you're a 14 it's perfect, if you're an 18 I wouldn't risk it. The dress itself is made of gorgeous duchess satin with a very soft chiffon across the skirt. The top is made of lace from quite a posh seller, I'm afraid I can't remember the name, but apparantly he also sells lace to John Lewis. All the materials used were sourced from respected retailers. The lace was not cheap and we looked far and wide to find it. The colour is Ivory, but it is quite a 'white' ivory... It's a lot softer than the normal daz white dresses you see, so the colour is very flattering. The dress was designed to follow the curves of my body but without being constrictive. I could hug, dance and eat in it without any trouble. The woman who made my dress was exceptionally skilled. There is an invisable zip up the side and a few poppers under one arm to fix it all in place. Once the dress is on you won't even notice. It'll look like it's painted on. :0) The dress is pretty much spotless; the only marks I can see are on the inside hem where it has dragged on the ground. I'm going to have the dress professionally cleaned so hopefully they won't notice as much, but I don't think I can remove them completely.
